Cecil Smith ~ blessed uncle
Alden's dear Uncle Cecil passed away this evening at 6:15 ~ with his beloved wife Louise by his side. What a dear couple this was ~ they did everything on earth together as a team. They loved their Lord and each other...........and gave their life to serve God and people around them. Louise has cared for Cecil for many years as his illness progressed. Please pray that she will heal from this broken heart and see that God still has His hand on her and her future. We visited with them in the hospital last Saturday, had a special visit, and the doctor came in to tell Louise that Cecil was in the last stage and would only be on this earth a few more days. Through her tears, this is what she said "if this is what God wants, then I will obey". WOW. This is who this lady is. God has great things ahead for her........as she goes through and gets beyond this difficult process of grief.
What a testimony of who God's is........in this couple's life. Cecil's favorite hymn: Day by Day Day by day and with each passing moment, Strength I find to meet my trials here; Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment, I've no cause for worry or for fear. He whose heart is kind beyond all measure Gives unto each day what He deems best ~ Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, mingling toil with peace and rest. Every day the Lord Himself is near me With a special mercy for each hour; All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me, He whose name is Counselor and Power. The protection of His child and treasure is a charge than on Himself He laid; "As your days, your strength shall be in measure, this the pledge to me He made. Help me then in every tribulation so to trust your promises, O Lord, That I lose not faith's sweet consolation offered me within Your holy Word. Help me Lord when toil and trouble meeting, e'er to take as from a father's hand. One by one, the days the moments fleeting, till I reach the promised land. In memory of this special man ~ whom we dearly loved.
Please pray for Louise as she lives "day by day" ~ moment by moment in God's hands.
