Daughter Fix

Alden and I enjoyed our Sunday afternoon ~

with Hannah.

We had a great lunch together ~

got caught up with other,

laughed and had such fun.

Father and daughter ~ precious Alden and I arrived a tad early for our lunch date ~

so we took a spin around DC to see the sights

and people milling about.

It was a beautiful, spring like day here.

Isn't this the GREATEST ~

signal for bikers! So smart.

Lovely day all around ~

Friendships Renewed

Alden and I met at NC State University

in Raleigh, NC

Alden was friend's with Ralph,

who was a year older than him.

Ralph graduated before I arrived at college.

We have stayed in contact for ALL these years ~

having seen each only once when we lived in Colorado Springs,

some 25 years ago!

Man, am I aging us or what? :)

Ralph and Jen were here in Northern Virginia for the weekend ~

and we had the pleasure of getting caught up with each other.

They have 4 kids (along with their spouses) and 12 grandchildren!

What fun hearing Alden and Ralph reminisce....and talk through many of their

college friends, where they are and what they're up to.

Many are in full time Christian ministries ~ very special time ~

long time friends are wonderful!

Richmond Visit

We sat around the S & R family room for hours after eating out.....

having the best time ~ talking & laughing Sunday we went over to Chris and Blair's house ~ how fun seeing their new home!

We were treated to brunch downtown Richmond

We went over to Kim's house Sunday afternoon to visit with she and Heather

and had a GREAT time.

We ate dinner together before heading on home.

What a wonderful weekend we had ~

with some of our favorite people in the whole wide world!

Time with Andrea and Ayden

Last weekend ~ what fun we had!

As you recall.....it was Christy's birthday and Phill took her away ~

so.....Alden and I got to enjoy Andrea and Ayden Sat. into Sunday.

Andrea and I made valentine cookies ~ messy, fun and yummy! Alden and Andrea cleaned up the yard...... we lost a few branches from the recent snow storm.

We played outside ~

little boys and matchbox cars ~

we took a walk ~

We thought Ayden would love riding on the moving firetruck ~

um.....no ~ not his favorite.

Then headed to dinner at Andrea's favorite (Alden's too!) ~ Chipotle

bathtime ~ lots of splashing and fun ~

then tucked him in bed....after reading and cuddling.

Andrea and I iced the cookies ~

Happy Valentine's Day!

Then we got cozy......Alden, Andrea and I .....

and watched the Sound of Music.

Ahhhh.....what a GREAT movie!

Slept good that night ~

the next day we moved slow.....

enjoyed breakfast....

played a bit.....

and enjoyed a nice visit with Phill and Christy when they came to get the kids.

Grandparents are content.......:)

Day Off ~ Fun with Ayden

I got Ayden all to myself today ~

and what a quiet, good day we had.

He was very easy going ~

A favorite of ours ~ with grandkids ~ has been and is to "play with the water in the sink".

always such fun!!!!

The hit of the day

Nothing better than bubbles right?~

Looking outside ~ it was pretty cold.....brrrrr.

rocked a bit

looked outside some more ~ sunny, but STILL cold!

We tried going out in the sunroom,

but......

the bubbles were FROZEN~ oh my!

Stayed a few minutes ~

Brought those toys inside .....

built a tower!

Had some lunch ~

and of course some cookies ~

After nap, we decided to brave the cold.....

and run a bit.

What a fun day .....

being a grandma.
