We are so proud of Courtney ~ she ran a 1/2 marathon Saturday morning. She did GREAT! She ran with a neighbor/friend, Remi. They trained together.Courtney started running only a few years ago....and look at her today! She LOVES running now! Good testimony that "it is never too late to start something". We love you Courtney!
Mile 3.......coming over to our crowd to say hi!
The race started at 7 a.m. so you can imagine the early morning everyone had. :) AND....the temps were in the 20's when we woke up. Brrrrrrrr. The day stayed pretty cold....but the sun did shine!!!!!
Mile 7....still going strong!

High 5'ing Pat ~ don't you love that smile!!!!!
Off they go to finish the race! Remi is there to the right in the blue.
Both of these ladies have 4 children. :)

Us spectators rode the metro from place to place to cheer the ladies on.....we enjoyed the warmth and the ride. Sawyer hung there!

Happy Birthday Steve

Ahhhhh, what fun to wish Steve a Happy Birthday this day.
We ate a late lunch at Outback and back home for gifts and cake.
It is fun to celebrate Steve.
Stephen Staley Smith
Oh how I remember the day he was born......3 1/2 weeks early....weighing in at 3 lbs 6 oz and 17 inches long. He was called "peanut" by the nursery staff. He was adorable ~ perfectly formed, just tiny. Both sets of grandparents came to visit and Dorian's parents stayed for a few weeks to help us out. Steve stayed in the hospital for two weeks and came home at just under 5 lbs. There began this boy's life.....and what a wonderful addition to our family he was and is.
Steve's passion is music, plays it, listens to it and works with it. :)
We love you Steve!

Last Few Days ~ Dinner at Hannah's house, fun outing with Christy, and basketball with Brittany

We've had some fun the last few days ~
Christy headed back to work today after being home with Ayden the last 3 months. What a blessing that has been for their family. Christy has so enjoyed Ayden and just being more relaxed. She and I went out for lunch yesterday. We went to Old Town and ate at Cosi's, then just walked around....enjoying the shops, the water, each other, and the beautiful weather.
Cosi, here we come!

~~~~~~~~ Sunday night Alden and I enjoyed some time with Hannah at her house.
Brittany's b'ball game
Lunch after the game (they won!).....enjoying the beautiful weather and each other.
Snow Day
Snow days are a favorite for us! We don't get much snow in our area, so when we do get some it is an event. We slow down, which is the best part. We enjoy the sight of the snow falling so much and simply enjoy God's handiwork of the snow covered land.
Sunday afternoon we were admiring our daffodil bulbs.
Sunday night the snow began to fall around the bulbs.
Monday the bulbs are covered. :)
Enjoy some pictures of our snow......5 inches
The snow begins Sunday night......
This morning.....Monday, the snow covered yards are beautiful
It is bitterly cold tonight.....-5 to -10 below zero. Brrrrrrrr.
Inside.....Hannah, Steve and I enjoyed our day. We watched movies by the fire, played cards, ate good food, relaxed and enjoyed each other and the day.
Snow days.......ahhhhhhhhhhh.
