New York City ...for a wedding!!!!!!

We left DC over the weekend.......
for New York City!

to celebrate the wedding of Rob and Jaime.

Rob is the son of dear longtime friends ~ Donna and Rick.
You all know this group of friends as our "old neighborhood friends".
These friends are like family to us  ~
and it was simply a PLEASURE to enjoy this time together.
Mother of the groom, Donna, is front and center in the blue dress!
Isn't she beautiful!
We went to Rosslyn.....
to meet our way up to NYC.....on the Vamoose Bus.
Our first time trying this.

We LOVED it.  Comfortable tour bus with WiFi and electrical outlets
for say......phone charger!
We arrived in NYC.....

Got off the bus at Penn Station at Madison Square Garden.

Our mode of transportation while in the City was the subway.

 We checked out Times Square.

ABC Studio

Rockefeller Plaza

NBC Studio

Our hotel and wedding venue were in Brooklyn.

We made our way to Ground Zero.

You can see the fountain in the background.
The white building is the museum where the
items are from 9/11.

Saturday night we headed to the wedding

to an amazing venue ~
an old bank building built in the 1920's.
It was used as a bank up until 7 years ago.

The vault in the basement is where the ceremony took place.
Yep, we walked through the vault doors.

Rob, the groom
with parents, Rick and Donna.

It was a Jewish wedding ~
ceremony under the Chuppah (hoopa)

The 7 circles of the bride and groom.
Yes, they walk around each other 7 times each.

Rob and Jaime with both sets of parents.

The reception was up stairs ~ in the actual cathdral type room where the
teller windows (notice on the left side) and desks (center of room) were for the bank patrons.
Of course, now it set up as a party!!!!

Notice the beautiful floors.

We ate here in the BIG room and if you notice off to the left ~
the dance area was curtained off.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner ~

Rob and Jaime doing the Mezinke Dance ~ to
Hava Nagila Music.
Yes, they are lifted in chairs .....

while dancing is going on around them.

Rick and Donna also being lifted up!!!

Mike, Rob's brother.

Mike and his girlfriend dancing ~

And of course, us ladies dancing the night away!!!!!!

and having SO much fun!!!!!!

Rob and Jaime surprised us all ~
by joining the band......

and singing "Crazy in Love" (Beyonce)
So fun!!!!!

Wonderfully Busy Weekend

with friends and family.

Saturday morning we got caught up with long-time
friend, Russ.

He enjoyed "meeting" Alden's new car.

Then we headed on over to Andrea's soccer game.

Where she played goalie for the first time!
Yep....she joined the ranks with Brittany and Rebekah who also play goalie!

Ayden enjoyed a sweet dog on the sidelines.

He also tried to help out the goalie.  haha.

Alden and Phill

The sisters ~ Brittany helps coach Andrea's team.  :)

We packed up.

And had some lunch together at Jason's Deli.
Yum!

Sunday ~ John's parents (Hannah's fiance)
came to visit.
They were in town checking out rehearsal dinner
options.  We SO enjoyed our time together.
AND....what fun talking about the wedding!

Sunday night we headed to Courtney and Pat's ~
they went out to eat with friends....

And Alden and I had fun with the "crew"!
They got a new b'ball hoop this weekend ~
and of course had to show it off!

We had McD for dinner.....of course.

AND ended with ice cream.  Woohoo!

When we drove up to the house ~
there were 2 adorable bunnies hopping through their backyard.
So cool!

Papa and Lincoln reading a book before bed.

Once all were tucked cozily in bed ~
Alden and I went out and had our own date
on the porch.
Then...to top that off once Courtney and Pat got home,
we had a nice visit with them.
Happy .....but just a tad tired.  :)
Yay, for weekends!!!!!

Smith Family Reunion

Last weekend Alden and I headed down to North Carolina......

to the Smith "Cousin" Reunion.

We got some good ole Southern food ~ YUM!

And so enjoyed getting reconnected with extended family.
Aunt Jean & MR and Aunt Jean  :)

This couple is one of the "original" cousins
(Alden's dad, his siblings....and cousins)   that began this
great tradition.

Aunt Foy and Aunt Peggy

Uncle Jerry leading us in a good time of prayer.

Flowers from Uncle Jerry's yard decorated the event.

It was a GREAT time not only spending time with aunts and uncles,
but with Alden's brother Ken and wife Lynne.

A precious time with family.
