Skype with Courtney and Pat/Playground Fun

Oh my .....skyping is amazing!!!!!

Pat, Courtney and family connected with Sawyer at noon!
What a happy bunch they were.  :)
Courtney tenderly appreciating Sawyer......
Rebekah making contact!
After Bailey saw and talked with Sawyer....
she broke down (now on Mom's shoulder).
What a wonderful thing skype is ~
to connect precious people together.
Sawyer loves it.....though the "issues" of skype....
breaking connection often, delay of speech.....makes it a little tough.
It is a precious time to experience the family connecting so wonderfully
with Sawyer.

Sawyer waving by to Papa this morning.

sweet boy

You will not believe this, but Stacey above and her husband are
adopting a precious son from Ethiopia!
They will be IN Ethiopia the very same time as Courtney and Pat
....they leave tomorrow for Ethiopia.
They will stay at the same "guest house" as Courtney and Pat.
How wonderfully amazing is that.  God is SO good!
We met up.....so she could take a "love gift" from us to Courtney and Pat.
Simply WOW!

I had planned some time at the playground this morning ~
and Sawyer had SUCH a great time.
 Grandma and Sawyer

AND.....to make it even more fun....
my friend Anne came with us!
She is a long time friend who simply has loved
Courtney and Pat's story.
The 3 of us had a BALL!

Adorable

FUN Anne ~ she will kill me that I put this on my blog!
Isn't it SUCH a cute picture!!!!!

And....by the way....
yes, Sawyer took the pictures of Anne and I.
Pretty cool huh!  Amazing!

We will be back to this playground ~
it was SUCH a great place.

Sawyer Is Here!

Alden and I are SO excited to have Sawyer with us!
We will have him for the last 10 days of
Pat and Courtney's Africa trip.....
until July 2......when he will GREET
his family at the airport .....
and meet his two NEW brothers.

Pat's parents ~ Barbara and Randy have had him the first 10 days.
They had a ball together!

Sawyer is doing GREAT ~ full of smiles...
and yes a little pondering.

This picture stays pretty close to him.  :)
The house changed a bit.....
readying for Sawyer!

His room ~
we STILL have the comforters we used for our Phill and Steve!
(I loved them!!!!  and look how handy they have come in!)

His room is RIGHT next to ours.
FUN pictures of cousins.....at our recent Grandkid Sleepover
right above his bed.

Pictures of the family downstairs

Papa and tractor time

simply watching the squirrels

Today Sawyer and I made a chain .....to count down
the days until Mom and Dad get home!
He put the stickers on.....

stapled (with help) the links together.....

We took the first link off today....there are 10 links.
The last one is for Saturday, July 2....when he will be reunited with his family....
with the family pic on it!!!!!
What a day of rejoicing that will be!!!!!
{click on the picture to get a good view of the pic}

It was warm out today so our favorite was the POOL
in the backyard.  (cooling Grandma's feet off!)

This boy is a GREAT sleeper.....
see what was near him when he woke up......

He quickly SMILES!  Amazing.

Courtney left a bag a day.....
for Sawyer to open.  It has a treat and family picture in each one.
This was today's ~ a phone....that Pat, Courtney,
Rebekah, Joshua, and Bailey had recorded in their own voices
saying they loved him!  He LOVES it!

We made a trip to the train station tonight.....
close to our house.
Our kids heard the train "toot it's horn"
growing up (yes, in our "old" neighborhood)...
and we can still hear it at our current house.

Sawyer loves trains....
and heard the "horn" from our house.....

we HAD to go!!!!!

And OFF he goes.....see what I mean about the smiles!!!!!

Papa and Sawyer enjoying some books together ~

We have some GREAT bedtime fun!!!!
Sawyer RUNS from the hallway......
and FLINGS on the bed.

AND.....he does it again and again....
literally maybe 12 times!!!!!!  Um....
grandparents can do this!!!!!!  :)

It's all about this photo.....
a family (Sawyer's family) who are in AFRICA (Akica)
bringing home his two brothers.
This is such a very special time for us ~
we're treasuring the gift of one on one time with Sawyer......
while Mom and Dad make final preparations for adopting  and
bring HOME two African boys.
Precious memories being made.
We love you ....all of you Cassadas (and Hannah!).

Scott's Farewell

Art and Linda ~ special friends......

They have been a part of our Bible Study and Sunday School class for 3 years now.
We all quickly bonded.
The military has moved them on....
and we will so greatly miss them.
Yet, our lives are so much better for having known them.

Our Bible Study group ~
Snyders, Cryers, Harmons, Hogyes, Beatties, Olive and Linda Parker.
Wonderful friends!
The guys ~
the girls

It just so happened that the night we bid farewell to Art and Linda.....
was John's birthday!
Nita had a special cake for him.
Yes.......

there's a Harley on it!
Happy Birthday John.

Art and Linda ~
we love you and will so be missing you!
Our love and prayers are with you ~
