Sunday evening ~
Alden and I took a walk together.

We love to be outside.....see sunsets........

Alden suggested we go walk the Woodrow Wilson Bridge!
I was wary.
I didn't even know you could.
(I guess when I am crossing it, I am looking intently on my lane....)

We started out......

Saw underneath the bridge

Looked through pillars to see the cars before we were up where we could
easily see the cars

Alden checking it all out

Our first view of the water as we walked out on the river ~ WOW!
Just beautiful!
This is one of our favorite views of our city ~ from this bridge.

Lots of acitivity on the water ~
the weather was GORGEOUS!

So lovely ~

There were little look out points ~ with history markers and
telescopes to see all the sights.
There were also lots of others doing the same thing....
people walking like us, riding bikes, running ~ individuals and families.

Old Town Alexandria

Bolling AFB.....where we were married
I told Alden....this would be a very special place for someone to propose ~
very romantic.

Some of the history we learned by these markers

Quite a view of our Capitol.....years ago. Hard to imagine.

We walked across to the Maryland side
(about 2 miles)

At that end there is beautiful walk over

Beautifully landscaped

Looking into MD (National Harbor is over to the right of us)

Looking back towards VA

As we headed back towards VA....the sun began to set

The sky began to change colors (over National Harbor)

Fun things we saw ~ he was going right under the bridge

Sun rays gleaming everywhere

Beautiful

Oh my.......

Gorgeous

The colors were amazing ~ the panoramic view was just something.

the lights began to come on

We crossed back over into Virginia

As the sun went down........

Just wonderful.

A perfect evening ~
together.
