Trip to Dallas

Alden goes on a business trip each October.....
and I always try to go with him on this trip.
What fun we had!
This year it was to Dallas, Texas (we have never been to Dallas before) One of the best parts is meeting up with friends ~ The Edwards, Feasts and Fields
Lindemuths, Chris and Sarah
Our hotel was so fun!
Our room looked out over an atrium ~ beautiful
ONE big guitar :)
:)
lots of sports in the area ~
the Rangers played their big game while we were there.
They won!
stars everywhere :)
Star at the very top of the atrium
Amazing
Lunch our first day
Yum!
And of course.....we found the sunset!
Star at night ~ WOW!
Beautiful sitting area ~
atrium by night
The next day we had some free time,
so we rented a car....
and headed into Dallas.....
first had to stop by Starbucks
and get "dessert"!
The city comes into sight.....
:)
We went to the Kennedy Museum ~
where John F. Kennedy was shot.
What a well done museum it was.
3rd floor up ~ window slightly raised,
is where the shots came from
We are on the grassy knoll across the street......
Kennedy's car passed behind us. Look hard and
you can see an X on the street.....
where the car was when Kennedy was shot.
We then went on to see the Dallas Theological Seminary ~
some of the well known pastors and speakers (and friends of ours) of our time
go to this school.
God at work on this earth ~ making Himself known ~
through people who have studied His word
and share it with other people!
Breakfast the next day ~
those who are drinking COKE! :)
In the afternoon ~ a BAD storm went through the area.
A tornado warning went off and we had to go into the basement of our hotel.
WOW ~ that was exciting!
That evening we went to the Cowboys Stadium~
AND the Rangers Stadium was RIGHT next door.
So fun to be inside ~ we love football,
and of course are Redskin fans.....
Roger Staubach spoke to us ~ quite a man!
Looking at the big screen ~ hee hee!
took in the sunset from inside the stadium (of course!)
Nice
Yep....wore the Redskin jersey!
Everyone wore their favorite jersey!
We even got up on the BIG screen!!!!! :)
GREAT to spend time with friends ~ Steve and Maribeth
Earl and Kim
Bill and Ruth (long time friends from our AF days......when we had our FIRST children in Germany!)
The stadium was readying for Monday night's game ~ We watched a little of the game Monday night and
it was so fun knowing we had just STOOD on that field
and in the stands
even got a tour of the locker room!

The next morning ~ our last morning in Dallas,
we went to hear one of our favorite speakers ~
Chuck Swindoll at his church.
BEAUTIFUL choir ~ wonderful message from God's Word.
Very special time.
Chuck Swindoll (looking RIGHT at me!)
Had to laugh....when we got back to the hotel to check out....
there was something new in the atrium....
BOOTS! The hotel was expecting a packed out crowd the next day
for the Cowboy's game.
Saw the most incredible cloud formation coming home......
ominous for sure. We flew AROUND it.
The autumn colors were shining brightly as we got close to home!
Finished out trip off with yet.....
one more sunset.
Thankful for time away ......together.
Appreciate Alden's work ~ the work they do,
the people that work there.
Blessings.
