Stop Hunger Now

This is a MOST amazing ministry ~
gathering volunteers for their time and donations,
to put together meals
for those in need.

Reston Bible Church

and a most incredible team ~
led by......Pat, our son-in-law
{and yes, the man has a hair net....over his beard!}

Our families gathered to participate ~
(Hannah and John came to a later shift)

 hundreds of volunteers gathered ~
at 3 different shifts.

Sawyer and Ayden having some fun!

The meals were put together......
put in boxes, and loaded in the truck....
to be delivered to the needy people.
Wow and Wow again.
Here are the specific steps to actually putting the meals together.

Volunteers all "chose" a station to work at ~
the assembly line is ready.

First station:  putting a bag under the funnel, adding
a seasoning packet, scoop of dried vegetables, and a
scoop of rice

Then.....6 completed bags were put into a tub,
which was then taken to the scale.

Each bag was weighed ~
so each bag had the same amount.
This person would either take rice out or add rice in to make it the "right" weight.

The bag was then given to the sealer.
They would seal the bag of food.

Putting sealed bags in a tub.
When the tub was full.......
It would go over to a mat.
Each block of the mat would be filled.
When the mat was full,
the bags were put in a box that you see behind.
When so many boxes were full ~

They were taken to the truck ~
and loaded.
By the end of the day.....
the truck would be taken to the ship in Norfolk
to be shipped to the needy people.
Is that not incredible?????!!!!!!

Somebody was so smart in devising this plan ~
it works and it is amazing to be a part of!
What a privilege it was to be a part of this day ~
to help others......together.

Truly a blessing.
