Destination #2: Holmes Beach

H i g h l i g h t
of our trip

We rented a car and headed out of Orlando ~

on a wonderfully sunny day ~
(remember all the RAIN we had!)
for Holmes Beach ~
to visit with two very special people in our lives ~
Bea and Bob.

Our first sight of their neighborhood ~
across the water.  :)

We snuck in a little peak of the GULF before heading to
their house.
Ahhhhh.......beautiful.

We were so excited to be heading down their street..........

and arrived at their house!
This is where we sat visiting......for many wonderful
visits over the years.
We settled in ......and
enjoyed the beautiful views from their house.
backyard looking out over Tampa Bay

Bea and Bob started getting dinner ready

Just beautiful ~
Victoria "otherwise known as Vicki"
What joy she brings to Bea and Bob.
The table was set.....
but dinner waited until we could watch the sunset.

Simply gorgeous ~
As we came back inside.....
there was the moon already coming up.
Wow!
We enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner,
brocolli salad, asparagus, potatoes.....
ending with .....
key lime pie.  Yum!  Thanks Bea!
We so enjoyed just visiting ~
this man is so dear....so gentle.....
he was my dad's best man at their wedding.
They were in World War II together.
Special man.
I love you Bob.

The next morning we headed over to the Gulf ~
for Alden to run and me to walk.
ahhhhhh.......so peaceful and beautiful!
toes in the sand......
walking back to the house ~
we saw a heron.
beautiful flowers

Pile of shells in the driveway for landscaping.
At home we would see mulch.
Very appropriate!
arriving "home"  :)
We headed over to Bob's golf clubhouse
 for lunch

Bob is one respected man there ~
We enjoyed a GREAT lunch, had fun watching the golfers
outside, and again.....just being together.
After lunch Bea rode us around Anna Maria Island ~
what a charming area.
She and my mom used to come to this pier and eat
lunch at the restaurant.  I never knew that!

Bea waited for us in the car.....
while we walked around a bit.
Isn't she so cute!
We saw some really cute houses ~
I mean REALLY ~
isn't this b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l!!!!!!
For my sisters ~
this is the motel we stayed at a few years ago.
See our "apt" to the right?
Remember, it burned down.  So sad.
Then Bob took Alden around the golf course ~
and Bea and I sat outside ~
enjoying a coke and having SO much together.
Simply wonderful time.
This was one of my favorites!!!!!!
Bea is a wonderful conversationalist ~
so easy to be around.

Osprey just hanging out ~ wow.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants that evening
It sits right on the BEACH!
We sat outside........enjoyed some GREAT seafood.
and watched the sun set..........
as it slipped right into the water......

This truly is paradise!

We are looking out over the water....
the restaurant is there behind us to the right.
and again......as we headed back to join Bea and Bob....
there was the moon rising!
hee hee ~
earlier in the evening they had asked each table to give a "time"
that the sun would set.....
when we returned, we were told Alden won!
Yep.....a bottle of champaigne.
What a GREAT evening ~
with VERY special people.

Bea stays in touch with us through email ~
here she is in her study......
yep, checking Courtney's blog.  :)
There in her study she has family pictures ~
look at them when they were "young".
Isn't Bea stunning!!!!!!!  Soooo beautiful!
Their precious family ~
daughter Linda.
This lady is so dear to me ~
I love her so very much.
She and my mom were special girlfriends ~
and now I call her
dear special friend.
Bea, thank you for the memories and your friendship ~
thank you for YOU.
Our chairs ~ Bob used the brown one, Bea the green one
closest to us, and Alden and I on the couch.
LOVED our time in this room over these few days.

Alden getting Bea up on the smart phones ~
she was VERY interested!  REALLY!
She loves to keep up with the tech world and is
very good at it.
The next morning we headed to our next destination.......
reluctantly saying goodbye.
We were FILLED up with love,
that is for sure!

Truly ~ a blessing in our life!
We love you Bea and Bob.
Thank you for a wonderful few days together.
Thank you for your friendship....
and life- long memories.
