Want the story of this precious couple getting engaged?
Oh my, what can I say.....except we are THRILLED with this
wonderful engagement news that Hannah and John are
engaged!!!!!!!!! What a fun spell it has been. John talked to
Alden and I about 10 days ago (while Hannah was interviewing for her
job!). Of course, we gave our blessings! John went to work on
getting the ring and planning the special evening.
This past Thursday night (March 1) he pulled it off! He took her to a neat restaurant downtown DC ~ told her it was the celebration for her "new job"! She kept wondering......could this be the time he is going to ask me to marry him? She kept telling herself no.......couldn't be. Sure enough, after dinner he took her up on the roof of this restaurant, that looks over the city.....beautiful! AND......down on one knee, asked her to marry him. She said YES and began to cry with happiness.
They called both sets of parents to let us all know ~ so
sweet!!!!!!!! (They were still up on the roof) :) They were
so happy!!!!!!!
Then walked back down to the restaurant where their two
houses of friends awaited them .......to
celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUCH a special, special time.
We are so very happy with this news. We welcome John
into the family with open arms ~ he is such an amazing man and so perfect for
Hannah. They are GOOD together! They want to live their life for God.....together as a couple!
We do not know date or anything yet ~ planning will soon
begin! We'll certainly keep you updated. :) Let the planning begin!
The Smith and Forys families are SO very happy!!!!!!!!

Dorian, we are so excited with this news and look forward to hearing about the planning and then the wedding. We did get to meet John through skype but we can't wait to meet John face to face. Know that you and Alden are very excited with this news.

I am so so excited to hear the news!!!!! Have been waiting anxiously since her plane .landed from south America :). Can i make a personal.request for wedding date? Not the week in July that we are at the beach and not the week of aug 14 when I will be in.labor :). Can't wait to hear the plans as they continue :)
