Alden's Home Church ~ 100 Year Anniversary

Alden grew up in North Carolina ~ part of a most wonderful family...... that I cherish beyond measure. This family loves the Lord and each other. They went to a little white church ~ a Presbyterian church, where we have many, many precious memories through the years (while we were dating, newly married, and married many years with children). Alden's parents, his brother Gary, and our precious daughter Elizabeth are buried at the church cemetery.
This church celebrated it's 100 year anniversary this past weekend and we went to be a part of it. How blessed we were ~ to see old friends (lots of his parents' friends) and family. They had a wonderful program all planned ~ great music, some of the old pastor's spoke, and church members spoke. The pastor that married Alden and I was there. No, we weren't married at this church, but he came all the way up to Bolling AFB to marry us. So very special.

A wonderful buffet lunch was served following the service.

Church filled with people

Beautiful music (Alden's mom would sing with these very people many years ago now)

Mrs. Blaylock (to the left). She taught our kids Sunday School when we would visit.

Alden's Mom ~ she was a most special lady. She loved her Lord, her family and any one who met her, she was a friend. She would do anything for you. Honored in her church.

Alden's mom (and ours) dear, sweet friend Peggy

The sanctuary ~ the choir loft right in the center back.....where Alden's mom would sing with joy!
