37th High School Reunion

I graduated from high school in Hampton Virginia at Kecoughtan High School.
re·un·ion: (r-ynyn) 1. a. The act of reuniting. b. The state of being reunited.
2. A gathering of the members of a group who have been separated: a high school reunion.
Last weekend I had the privilege of going to my 37th high school reunion. You never know what to expect at such a gathering, but it was really a special evening ~ dinner and dance ~ with long time friends and acquaintances.
Alden and I had each been to one of our high school reunions (we went to different high schools) ~ we went to his 10th and my 20th. I went to two high schools, as my dad was in the AF and we moved around alot. It is always fun to reconnect with friends.
The KHS group of 1972 ~ a fairly small group compared to our class of 650 people. We are gearing up for our 40th reunion in 3 years. This was a good start.....and now we will all gather names and addresses of other classmates for the next reunion.

Really ~ the small group of people was very nice ~ you could visit with everyone and really get caught up. Special friend Susan ~ friends since 7th grade :)

And our husbands ~ Alden and Ned have become friends over the years

Susan and Margo

Regina ~ we were in homeroom together for years. She and I go to the same church now and some of our kids went to the same school. :)

Becky ~ another friend from elementary school

Just fun visiting with everyone

Driving towards the Charmberlin Hotel where the reunion was held.

My Dad was stationed at Langley AFB and I lived in Hampton the second half of my sixth grade through 9th grade. I made some wonderful friends and loved this time of my life. My Dad was then stationed to Taiwan and I spent my 10th and 11th grades there in Taiwan. At this point (my senior year), my Dad was sent to Vietnam and my mom and I went BACK to the Hampton area so I could graduate with friends ~ thus a graduate from KHS. :)

The Chamberlin is a special place ~ a beautiful place all in itself and located in the most beautiful setting, right on the water.

Our family would go to the grounds around the hotel for Easter Sunrise service each year.....right on the water. Just amazing.

View from the windows in the dining room/ballroom
My friend, Susan and I used to go on her dad's boat in this water.....and have so much!
Beautiful ballroom where we held our evening. The water is right outside these windows. Would you believe the bathroom? Gorgeous!

Considering my Dad was in the AF and we moved every two years ~ me and two of my sisters graduated from this high school ~ quite impressive. :)

Friends ~ memories ~ new memories ~ content
