Alden and I are SO excited to have Sawyer with us!
We will have him for the last 10 days of
Pat and Courtney's Africa trip.....
Pat and Courtney's Africa trip.....
until July 2......when he will GREET
his family at the airport .....
Pat's parents ~ Barbara and Randy have had him the first 10 days.
They had a ball together!
Sawyer is doing GREAT ~ full of smiles...
and yes a little pondering.
This picture stays pretty close to him. :)
The house changed a bit.....
The house changed a bit.....
readying for Sawyer!
His room ~
we STILL have the comforters we used for our Phill and Steve!
(I loved them!!!! and look how handy they have come in!)
His room is RIGHT next to ours.
FUN pictures of cousins.....at our recent Grandkid Sleepover
right above his bed.
Pictures of the family downstairs
Papa and tractor time
simply watching the squirrels
Today Sawyer and I made a chain .....to count down
the days until Mom and Dad get home!
He put the stickers on.....
stapled (with help) the links together.....
We took the first link off today....there are 10 links.
The last one is for Saturday, July 2....when he will be reunited with his family....
with the family pic on it!!!!!
What a day of rejoicing that will be!!!!!

It was warm out today so our favorite was the POOL
in the backyard. (cooling Grandma's feet off!)
This boy is a GREAT sleeper.....
see what was near him when he woke up......
He quickly SMILES! Amazing.
Courtney left a bag a day.....
for Sawyer to open. It has a treat and family picture in each one.
This was today's ~ a phone....that Pat, Courtney,
Rebekah, Joshua, and Bailey had recorded in their own voices
saying they loved him! He LOVES it!
We made a trip to the train station tonight.....
close to our house.
Our kids heard the train "toot it's horn"
growing up (yes, in our "old" neighborhood)...
and we can still hear it at our current house.
Sawyer loves trains....
and heard the "horn" from our house.....
we HAD to go!!!!!
And OFF he goes.....see what I mean about the smiles!!!!!
Papa and Sawyer enjoying some books together ~
We have some GREAT bedtime fun!!!!
Sawyer RUNS from the hallway......
and FLINGS on the bed.
AND.....he does it again and again....
literally maybe 12 times!!!!!! Um....
grandparents can do this!!!!!! :)
It's all about this photo.....
a family (Sawyer's family) who are in AFRICA (Akica)
bringing home his two brothers.
This is such a very special time for us ~
we're treasuring the gift of one on one time with Sawyer......
while Mom and Dad make final preparations for adopting and
bring HOME two African boys.
Precious memories being made.
We love you ....all of you Cassadas (and Hannah!).

What good it did my heart tonight to read this post. Courtney did a great job preparing for this time away. It will be quite the reunion! Love his and papa in their matching Orange shirts too! What a blessing you are to love on sawyer in this special way.
This is adorable! It brought tears to my eyes. Sawyer is so loved - even while his family is so far away. Prayers for the three of you guys this week as well. And enjoy this sweet time.

Dorian, you and Alden are such great grandparents and parents. You enjoy every minute and do such a great job. Loved the train station, pool pictures really all of them. Keep up the good work and it is so great to be able to read Courtney's notes again. For a day or two we were completely at a standstill. It was hard. Glad that everything is coming along for their return now.
Love you.
